As our nation marks this historic milestone\, this meaningful tradition provides a special opportunity to reflect on the courage\, sacrifice\, and service that have shaped America for two and a half centuries. \nDuring this special five-day display\, 2\,000 American flags stand in perfectly aligned rows\, creating a breathtaking tribute to soldiers\, veterans\, first responders\, and personal heroes. Each flag is dedicated to an individual and represents stories of courage\, sacrifice\, and service. Community members and volunteers work together to create and maintain the display with the utmost care and respect. \nVisitors are encouraged to stroll through the Field of Honor and experience the moving atmosphere of unity and gratitude. DESCRIPTION:NOTE: Due to the continued air quality alert issued for our area by the National Weather Service and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our staff and visitors\, the Summer Saturday event scheduled for 7/18/26 at Sensory Garden Playground has been rescheduled to 7/25/26.×Summer Saturday: Beach BashSaturday\, July 25 | 10A-12P | Sensory Garden Playground (2751 International Drive\, Lisle)Event Details:Come by the Sensory Garden Playground for all-inclusive play! \nA summer splash\, without the ocean! Join us at the Sensory Garden Playground for a Beach Bash featuring various departments across the Wheaton Park District. \nSummer fun activities include various games that would be found along a pier\, including Bozo Buckets\, fishing for a prize\, and a water gun accuracy contest. Playground visitors can try their hand at completing the summer scavenger activity challenge. Additionally\, we will have an ice cream truck out at the playground to cool off from the summer heat. \nSummer Saturdays are held from 10A to noon at the playground. The event is free\, but registration is encouraged\, and there is a $5 suggested donation per family. Water bottles from Culligan will be available at the playground.
