The Wheaton Park District and its facilities are proud to offer events throughout the year\, every month of the year. Events hosted at facilities can be found HERE. Events take place at Memorial Park\, Northside Park\, the Ray Morrill Community Center\, Rathje Park House\, and more locations. \nCosley Zoo Calendar | Arrowhead Golf Club Calendar | DuPage County Historical Museum Calendar \nPlayFrom playgrounds to programs to youth sports\, play fuels creativity\, joy\, and lifelong learning. Our parks and playgrounds offer a place to play. Toohey Park/Safety City doesn’t just hold classes; Open Road is offered for children age 3-6 on Wednesdays from 5:30-7P. Children with tricycles and helmets can ride safely free of charge\, with a parent or guardian present. Drop-off is not permitted. Tricycles are available to rent for $5. Participants must bring their own helmet. \nWhen the children don’t have school and need a place to go\, we offer single-day off and weeklong programs. Select programs have before-and-after care. Day off programs align with holidays and school schedules. The Park hosts Wheaton Municipal Band concerts on Thursday nights.  The Mary Lubko Center is located within the park. This facility offers active adult and senior programming ranging from day trips to extended travel\, fitness classes and drop-in groups. \nThe City of Wheaton Commission is hosting a Wheaton Block Party at the park on September 26. \nWe value our relationship with the City of Wheaton and the Wheaton Police Department. The City is our partner for the annual July 3 Fireworks and family fun celebration. The Wheaton Police Department works with our Recreation Department every year to put on Movie Night in the Park; a free movie screening at Seven Gables Park. \nNational Night Out takes place at Northside Park and is hosted by the Wheaton Police Department. \nNature\nAccess to nature restores\, inspires\, and improves the quality of life. Parks ensure everyone can access its benefits. \n \nEvery year\, we participate in the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s Unplug Illinois campaign. Unplug Illinois encourages people to unplug from their electronic devices and plug into play\, creativity\, friendship\, adventure and family. Saturday\, July 11 is the 8th Annual Unplug Illinois Day. \nThe Wheaton Park District is hosting: \n\nFree Mini Golf for Kids | Friday\, July 10 | Clocktower Mini Golf\nPlug into Nature at the Lincoln Marsh | Friday\, July 10 | A FREE family event from 10-11:30A at the Prairie Patch Play Area\nNature Telling | Saturday\, July 11 | A program for kids ages 2-5 at 10A at the Lincoln Marsh Main Entrance\n\n \nThe Lincoln Marsh Natural Area is an invaluable resource for enhancing the appreciation of and involvement in the natural world. \nHighly regarded for its recreational and educational opportunities for people of all ages\, Lincoln Marsh offers one hundred and fifty acres of respite from the hustle and bustle of traffic and commerce. The natural integrity of the area is impressive\, despite its urban setting. Prairies\, woodlands\, and savannas surround open water marsh areas that dot the landscape. \nThe Marsh has an abundance to offer including summer camps\, programs\, challenge course\, school groups\, scout programs and more. \nDISCOVER NATURE AT THE MARSH \nBelonging\nWelcoming parks and programs provide spaces where everyone feels valued. \nWe welcome and support the inclusion of all abilities in our programs. Inclusion Services are available to provide reasonable modifications to participants with disabilities to ensure a safe\, fun\, and successful experience in any of our programs. We work closely with Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA). \nWell-Being\nParks and recreation advances health\, resilience and shared community benefits. \nParks Plus Fitness offers group fitness classes to the community. DESCRIPTION:Summer Saturday: Storybook AdventureSaturday\, August 15 | 10A-12P | Sensory Garden Playground (2751 International Drive\, Lisle)Event Details:Come by the Sensory Garden Playground for all-inclusive play! \nOnce upon a time at a playground in Lisle\, Illinois\, there was a grand festival to tell the stories of the land. Join us at our final Summer Saturday of 2026\, where\, in collaboration with local libraries\, we will be hosting story time at the playground! \nThere will be story time options available to playground visitors\, held every 30 minutes\, each at a different part of the playground. Playground visitors can try their hand at finding hidden stickers of famous storybook characters throughout the playground. Our craft activity allows guests to design their own bookmark. Other activities to be announced! \nSummer Saturdays are held from 10A to noon at the playground. The event is free\, but registration is encouraged\, and there is a $5 suggested donation per family. Water bottles from Culligan will be available at the playground. A Wheaton grad of ’17\, she last performed with SITP as Miranda in The Tempest. Emma is a Pittsburgh-based therapist and actor. Regional credits include: Pittsburgh Public Theater (Trouble in Mind)\, City Theatre (YPF)\, Seattle Repertory Theatre Public Works (The Tempest)\, Harlequin Productions (Building Madness)\, and others. Boundless bounty of love for Peter and her family. \nMark Lewis (Capulet) \nMark Lewis (Capulet) is the Director of Theater at Wheaton College\, and for 30 years has been ‘in the room’ with Wheaton’s unique theater ensemble ‘Workout’ (which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024.) Before coming to Wheaton\, Mark was a professional actor in New York\, working regionally\, in television\, and in 15 professional productions of Shakespeare’s plays (at such venues as The Public Theater in New York and The Acting Company). As a director\, Mark has directed 50 plays at Wheaton College\, including six productions in Memorial Park. \nKailey Bell (Lady Capulet) \nKailey Bell (Lady Capulet) is a Chicago-based professional actress. She has performed at theaters such as Chicago Shakespeare Theater\, Cleveland Playhouse\, Kansas City Repertory Theater\, and Indiana Repertory Theater. Kailey has also had roles on several television shows and commercials\, and has extensive voice-over experience. She holds an M.A. from Northwestern University and an M.F.A. from the University of Idaho. \nLisa Enoch (Nurse) \nLisa Enoch (Nurse) is delighted to return for her fifth Shakespeare in the Park production. Previous roles include Worcester in Henry IV\,  Hippolyta in Midsummer Night’s Dream\, & the Duchess in As You Like It  (twice!)  Having grown up in northeast Texas\, she’s especially enjoying harkening back to her roots with the irresistible rhythms and humor that she’s found in the Nurse. A Wheaton College alumna (’92)\, Lisa resides in Wheaton with her family and is the owner/lead designer at the floral company Gatherings by Lisa Enoch. Special thanks to Andy for inviting her back “into the room”  to play and create with so many friends\, and to her husband Will and their kids Tyler and Grace for their love\, support\, and much shared laughter. \nTHE MONTAGUESCaspar Carter (Romeo) \nCaspar Carter (Romeo) is a Chicago-based actor who produces\, directs\, and performs in shows alongside fellow Workout grads while continuing to grow as a photographer and filmmaker. He graduated from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in 2022 with a Bachelor of Music with Elective Studies in Theater.  \nChad Klopfenstein (Montague)  \nChad Klopfenstein (Montague) has enjoyed participating in Shakespeare in the Park throughout the past decade. Most recently he appeared as Feste in Twelfth Night. He has managed to injure himself rehearsing for Midsummer Night’s Dream\, The Tempest\, Henry IV and Much Ado About Nothing. If Montague has a limp in this production\, it is not acting. \nLilia Smith (Benvolia/Movement Director) \nLilia Smith (Benvolia/Movement Director) is honored and thrilled to be back for Shakespeare in the Park! She graduated from Wheaton in 2020 after studying Anthropology and Theater. Since then\, she has lived and worked downtown and wears a few different hats\, including actor and theater teacher. She most recently finished teaching Arena Theater’s fourth Youth Summer Theater Camp\, so she is clearly having the greatest summer.  \nTHE GENTLEMEN OF VERONAGreg Brostrom (Friar Lawrence) \nGreg Brostrom (Friar Lawrence) is a New York-based actor and is thrilled to be returning to Shakespeare in the Park to work with so many friends and mentors.  He graduated from Wheaton College in 2006 with a degree in Psychology\, and has worked as a professional actor ever since.  Theater credits include Richard in Richard III\, Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher\, Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream\, Sir Fopling in Man of Mode\, or Sir Fopling Flutter\, and many more.  Television credits include Blacklist\, Blue Bloods\, Succession\, You\, The Equalizer\, and more.  When he isn’t acting he works for a media company in Manhattan\, and spends time with his amazing wife\, Allie.   \nJohn Ingelsen (Mercutio) \nJohn Ingelsen (Mercutio) is “pleased as piglets” to be returning to a Wheaton stage. Since graduation in 2018 he’s been a proud member of Chicago’s scrappy DIY-arts community: writing & directing film projects\, acting in & directing theater with Arena grads at The Athenaeum and The Den\, and this fall will be directing TSA: the Musical at The Color Club. John is a wedding videographer\, and is training to become a Registered Nurse (graduating December). He lives in Logan Square with his beautiful wife Jess and their orange cat Cinnabon. \nEmil Ginter (Paris) \nEmil Ginter (Paris) is so excited to be returning to Shakespeare in the Park! Since graduating from Wheaton with an interdisciplinary studies degree (Ancient Languages and Theater) in 2020\, Emil has been an actor in Chicagoland (Refracted Theatre\, Chicago Heights Drama Group\, Assembly Theatre\, Highland Park Players)\, and Hammond\, IN (Towle Theatre)\, and he has been a producer-director for Assembly Theatre in Chicago and Bouquet Theatre in Denver\, CO. He is having a dreamy summer. \nChristopher David (Prince) \nChristopher David (Prince) is excited to return for his sixth Shakespeare in the Park. Most recently he played Alonso in The Tempest (Second Glance). Past roles include Toby Belch in Twelfth Night (Assembly Theater) and KJ in The Aliens (Theater 104). He holds a BA in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College (‘21). \nTHE SERVANTS AND GUARDSMegan Heydt (Servant/Soldier/Dancer) \nMegan Heydt (Servant/Soldier/Dancer) is delighted to participate in Shakespeare in the Park for the first time! She is a Senior at Wheaton College\, studying International Relations\, and is a current Workout ensemble member in Arena Theater. She previously enjoyed playing Maria in Shakespeare’s Love’s Labours Lost\, Irina in The Government Inspector\, and roles in smaller acting projects at Arena. She is grateful to her family\, friends\, and professors for their love and support! \nKaitlyn Krug (Ensemble) \nKaitlyn Krug (Ensemble) is excited to return for her third Shakespeare in the Park production. A senior at Wheaton College\, she studies English literature\, theater\, Spanish\, and public art. She has always been fond of Shakespeare\, lending a hand to half a dozen productions. Previous Arena Theater shows include The Psalms Project\, Our Town\, and Well.  \nChristopher McGoldrick (Ensemble) \nChristopher McGoldrick (Ensemble) is overjoyed to return for his second Shakespeare in the Park production! He joined Arena Theater during his sophomore year\, appearing in Our Town and The Government Inspector. Christopher is so thankful to be involved in this production alongside beloved Arena Theater alumni\, faculty\, and friends.  \nEva-Jolie Persall (Ensemble) \nEva-Jolie Persall (Ensemble) is thrilled to get back into the works of Shakespeare with her  second Shakespeare in the Park production. A Senior at Wheaton College\, she studies Applied Health Science with minors in Theater and Spanish. She has previously appeared in Arena Theater’s production of Guys and Dolls\, and the 2026 poetry project: Measure Every Grief. \nDylan Story (Ensemble) \nDylan Story (Ensemble) is quite happy to participate in his third Shakespeare in the Park\, with this being the first time he will appear in the show. He is entering his Senior Year here at Wheaton College studying Communications: Emphasis on Theater and English Literature. Previous roles in Arena shows have included the likes of Dr. Purgon in Imaginary Invalid and Joe Stoddard in Our Town. \nJoshua Sprinkle (Ensemble) \nJoshua Sprinkle (Ensemble) is delighted to join Shakespere in the Park for the first time. A senior at Wheaton College studying Art History & International Relations\, he has previously appeared in Arena Theater productions The Government Inspector (John Khlestakov) and Arms and the Man (Captain Bluntschli). Before joining Wheaton’s unique theater ensemble ‘Workout\,’ he appeared in award-winning productions of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime and Newsies. His favorite role of all time was Javert in Les Misérables\, which closed two days before he started at Wheaton in 2023.  \nLillian Evans (Ensemble) \nLillian Evans (Ensemble) is overjoyed to join the company of Shakespeare in the Park! A senior at Wheaton College\, Lily is pursuing a degree in Music with Elective Studies in Theater. She’s appeared in both Arena Theater and Opera Mainstage productions including Guys and Dolls (Allison)\, The Merry Wives of Windsor (Lucy)\, The Imaginary Invalid (Angélique)\, Love’s Labour’s Lost (Jaquenetta)\, Into the Woods (Little Red Riding Hood)\, and The Government Inspector (Osip/Sofiya). Recently she had the pleasure of artistic directing The Messiah Project 2026. She is a co-founder of “Second Glance”\, a newly launched ensemble of interarts storytellers based in the Wheaton area. Fascinated by the way we re-tell stories\, Anna can often be found researching\, watching\, and analyzing movie and stage adaptations of her favorite well-known tales.  \nNoel Streacker (Music Director\, Percussionist) \nNoel Streacker (Music Director\, Percussionist) is back with Shakespeare in the Park for his 8th season! Noel is a Chicagoland percussionist and educator currently teaching at several area high schools\, Wheaton College\, and College of Dupage as the Percussion Director. As a gigging musician Noel has played in many musical pits\, choirs\, orchestras\, and world music ensembles. Notable collaborations include Goodman Theater\, Kokandy Productions\, Theo Ubique Cabaret\, Arcomusical\, Orenda\, Metropolis Performing Arts Center\, Chicago Bronze\, Camerata Chicago\, and many more. When Noel isn’t practicing\, performing\, or teaching\, he loves to hangout with his two daughters and wife\, Rachel. \nEmma Ware (Composer\, Music Co-Director)  \nEmma Ware (Composer\, Music Co-Director) is delighted to be back for her fifth summer with Shakespeare in the Park! She graduated from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in 2024 with a Music Composition degree.
