SUMMARY:9/9: DuPage Symphony Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:The DuPage Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1954 with forty-five volunteer musicians. Russell Harvey\, co-founder of the orchestra\, led as Music Director for 31 years and Maestra Barbara Schubert joined in 1986. Under her dynamic leadership\, the DSO has grown to more than 100 highly talented volunteer musicians. In 2008\, 2013\, and 2021\, the DSO was named Community Orchestra of the Year by the Illinois Council of Orchestras. The DSO continues to recruit musicians with unparalleled skill and dedication\, thereby strengthening the ensemble’s performance capabilities with an expanding repertoire\, which in turn increases the musical knowledge of audiences.

Event features pumpkin painting\, food and beer garden\, small rides\, and live performances by Vest Dance Troupe\, The Wayouts and Wurst Kase Scenario. \nOctober Fest is a Charitable Event\nEvent proceeds benefit the DuPage County Historical Museum Foundation. \nDETAILS:Parking\nParking for October Fest is available in downtown parking garages located at Liberty & Cross and Wesley & Hale. \nPlease note: streets adjacent to the area will be impacted by Light the Torch 5K Night Run\, which steps off at Reber & Illinois at 7P. \nIllinois Liquor Commission Guidelines\nIn accordance with the Illinois Liquor Commission Guidelines\, only the equivalent of 2 beverages can be distributed to an October Fest guest at one time. October Fest reserves the right to refuse additional beverages to individuals exhibiting signs of over-intoxication in accordance with the Illinois Liquor Commission Rules and Guidelines. \nPets\nDue to the nature of the event\, pets of any kind are not allowed at October Fest.
