The Wheaton Park District and its facilities are proud to offer events throughout the year\, every month of the year. Events hosted at facilities can be found HERE. Events take place at Memorial Park\, Northside Park\, the Ray Morrill Community Center\, Rathje Park House\, and more locations. \nCosley Zoo Calendar | Arrowhead Golf Club Calendar | DuPage County Historical Museum Calendar \nPlayFrom playgrounds to programs to youth sports\, play fuels creativity\, joy\, and lifelong learning. Our parks and playgrounds offer a place to play. Toohey Park/Safety City doesn’t just hold classes; Open Road is offered for children age 3-6 on Wednesdays from 5:30-7P. Children with tricycles and helmets can ride safely free of charge\, with a parent or guardian present. Drop-off is not permitted. Tricycles are available to rent for $5. Participants must bring their own helmet. \nWhen the children don’t have school and need a place to go\, we offer single-day off and weeklong programs. Select programs have before-and-after care. Day off programs align with holidays and school schedules. The Park hosts Wheaton Municipal Band concerts on Thursday nights.  The Mary Lubko Center is located within the park. This facility offers active adult and senior programming ranging from day trips to extended travel\, fitness classes and drop-in groups. \nThe City of Wheaton Commission is hosting a Wheaton Block Party at the park on September 26. \nWe value our relationship with the City of Wheaton and the Wheaton Police Department. The City is our partner for the annual July 3 Fireworks and family fun celebration. The Wheaton Police Department works with our Recreation Department every year to put on Movie Night in the Park; a free movie screening at Seven Gables Park. \nNational Night Out takes place at Northside Park and is hosted by the Wheaton Police Department. \nNature\nAccess to nature restores\, inspires\, and improves the quality of life. Parks ensure everyone can access its benefits. \n \nEvery year\, we participate in the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s Unplug Illinois campaign. Unplug Illinois encourages people to unplug from their electronic devices and plug into play\, creativity\, friendship\, adventure and family. Saturday\, July 11 is the 8th Annual Unplug Illinois Day. \nThe Wheaton Park District is hosting: \n\nFree Mini Golf for Kids | Friday\, July 10 | Clocktower Mini Golf\nPlug into Nature at the Lincoln Marsh | Friday\, July 10 | A FREE family event from 10-11:30A at the Prairie Patch Play Area\nNature Telling | Saturday\, July 11 | A program for kids ages 2-5 at 10A at the Lincoln Marsh Main Entrance\n\n \nThe Lincoln Marsh Natural Area is an invaluable resource for enhancing the appreciation of and involvement in the natural world. \nHighly regarded for its recreational and educational opportunities for people of all ages\, Lincoln Marsh offers one hundred and fifty acres of respite from the hustle and bustle of traffic and commerce. The natural integrity of the area is impressive\, despite its urban setting. Prairies\, woodlands\, and savannas surround open water marsh areas that dot the landscape. \nThe Marsh has an abundance to offer including summer camps\, programs\, challenge course\, school groups\, scout programs and more. \nDISCOVER NATURE AT THE MARSH \nBelonging\nWelcoming parks and programs provide spaces where everyone feels valued. \nWe welcome and support the inclusion of all abilities in our programs. Inclusion Services are available to provide reasonable modifications to participants with disabilities to ensure a safe\, fun\, and successful experience in any of our programs. Services may include\, but are not limited to program modifications\, adaptive equipment\, support staff\, and communication assistance. We work closely with Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA). \nWell-Being\nParks and recreation advances health\, resilience and shared community benefits. \nParks Plus Fitness offers group fitness classes to the community. To participate\, a Parks Plus Fitness Membership with the Group Fitness add-on\, a 10 Class Pass or paying the walk-in fee is required. Classes cover a variety of fitness including HIIT training\, power sculpt\, spin\, yogalates\, and more.

Join us at the Sensory Garden Playground for a Beach Bash featuring various departments across the Wheaton Park District. \nSummer fun activities include various games that would be found along a pier\, including Bozo Buckets\, fishing for a prize\, and a water gun accuracy contest. Playground visitors can try their hand at completing the summer scavenger activity challenge. Additionally\, we will have an ice cream truck out at the playground to cool off from the summer heat. \nSummer Saturdays are held from 10A to noon at the playground. The event is free\, but registration is encouraged\, and there is a $5 suggested donation per family. Water bottles from Culligan will be available at the playground.
