Taste of Wheaton 2021 – Canceled

Taste of Wheaton Committee Hopeful Fest Can Return in 2022

The Wheaton Park District and Wheaton Chamber of Commerce have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the Taste of Wheaton again in 2021, which was set to take place June 3-6. The downtown Wheaton Streetscape Project has begun on Liberty Street and eliminates the location of the carnival for the event in both 2021 and 2022. The carnival provided a significant source of revenue and helped to fund the entertainment, rental equipment, and City services required to safely host the event. The current State of Illinois Phase 4 Restore Illinois Plan only allows a venue such as Memorial Park to operate at 25% capacity, which creates a significant challenge for the sustainability of the event. Summer is a time for pleasant weather, leisure, music, evening strolls, and festivals.

The Taste of Wheaton , running in downtown Wheaton, captures the hustle and bustle of a vibrant community celebrating summer.

Organized annually by the Wheaton Park District and the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, the Taste fills several square blocks with carnival rides, the best local food, live entertainment, family-friendly games and crafts, a beer garden, business expo, the Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals 5K/10K and Kids’ 1/2-Mile, art and craft vendors, and Art in the Park.

The four-day festivities take place across Memorial Park, Karlskoga Avenue, Wheaton Avenue, and Liberty Street. Admission to the Taste of Wheaton 2021 is free.
