I am going to Wide Horizons at the Wheaton Park District
I need to bring my backpack, a water bottle and a snack from home.
When I arrive, I say goodbye to my grown up and walk into my classroom.
My teachers are happy and excited to see me!
It is normal to feel excited or nervous about going to a new class. Everyone feels this way when trying something new.
I get to meet new friends. We can say “Hi!” and learn each other’s names.
It is fun to make new friends!
Sometimes we sit on the rug to listen to my teachers.
I need to show my teachers I am ready to learn.
During my day I will learn, play, and maybe make some crafts!
If I need to ask or tell the teachers something, I will raise my hand and wait to be called on.
After rug time, I get to play! There are so many toys I can play with blocks, toys, puzzles, cars...
I will share the toys and take turns with my friends. Sharing is kind and makes me happy.
My teachers may read us a story. Stories are fun and help us learn!
When it is snack time, I can eat my snack and talk quietly with my friends.
When I am done eating, I clean up my space and throw away my trash.
If it is nice out, we may go outside and play on the playground. It is fun to play outside with friends.
If I need a break during class or while outside, I will tell my teachers. There will be a quiet space I can go to.
At the end of the day, I will pack my things. I may take home any papers I worked on or artwork.
When class is over, my grown up will pick me up and I will say goodbye to my new friends and teachers!
Going to Wide Horizons is fun! I can’t wait to go again tomorrow!
