Reservations & Guidelines:
Ticketing & Entry
- Residents skate for free but a timed-entry ticket must be reserved in advance for specified reserve skate hours. A paper or mobile copy of the ticket, as well as a valid Wheaton Park District Universal ID, must be presented on-site to staff for entry. Failure to show a valid park district ID will require ticket payment at the non-resident rate.
- Tickets may be reserved up to seven (7) days in advance, are valid for the selected 45-minute time slot, and are non-refundable. Refunds will be issued in the event of weather-related cancellations.
- Tickets are released at 8A.
- Tickets are not required Monday-Friday 11A-4P when school is in session.
- Multiple days may be reserved at once within a seven (7) day window. A maximum of one (1) time slot per day may be reserved for the HOCKEY RINK for each participant. Extended time slots may be permitted on-site the day of your reservation based on capacity limits and/or other reservations. Please inquire with the rink attendant.
- All guests must have a ticket regardless of whether they are skating, with the exception of weekdays (when school is in session) from 11A-4P.
- All skaters are required to check in with staff before proceeding to the ice during the specified reserve skate hours.
- Please arrive 15-minutes in advance of your timed reservation to allow for time to put on and lace up your skates.

- On-site skate rental is not available. Skaters must provide their own skates. Entrance to ice without skates is prohibited.
- Warming shelters will not be available for the 2022-2023 season, please plan accordingly.
- Portable restrooms will be available on-site.
- The rinks will only be open during posted hours. No trespassing is allowed outside these hours. This facility is under 24-hour surveillance and will be police-enforced.
- Due to the limited availability, repeated no-shows during reservation hours may result in the loss of skating privileges.
Rules:
All posted rules are to be SELF-ENFORCED.
Staff are onsite EXCLUSIVELY to manage reservations, monitor ice conditions, and administer first aid when necessary.
Open Skate Rink Rules
No sticks, pucks, shooting devices, or hockey allowed.
- Skating is at your own risk.
- Wheelchairs are permitted on the ice if accompanied by a person wearing skates or ice cleats.
- Participants must keep moving.
- Roughhousing, excessive speeding, or weaving through other skaters is forbidden.
- Tag and other games are prohibited.
- No jumps, spins, figure, or backward skating.
- Children 12 and under should be actively supervised by a guardian (16+ years).
Ice Hockey Rink Rules
No organized practices are allowed.
- Skating is at your own risk.
- No slap shots or lifting of the puck.
- No checking/hitting, roughhousing/play fighting, pushing, slashing, hooking, high-sticking, or stick-lifting is allowed.
- Participants must have a helmet, gloves, ice skates, and sticks of their own.
- Children 12 and under should be actively supervised by a guardian (16+ years).
