5th Annual On Par For DuPage Golf Outing Returns to Arrowhead Golf Club

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wheaton, Ill.— On Thursday, September 21, DuPage County Historical Museum and People’s Resource Center bring back an Oktoberfest celebration that combines the best of Germany’s cuisine and a riveting game of 18 holes at Arrowhead Golf Course.

The On Par for DuPage Golf Outing benefits both the DuPage County Historical Museum, the only institution dedicated to collecting and preserving artifacts of DuPage County, and People’s Resource Center, which assists low-income neighbors with basic needs and provides self-sufficiency programs to break the cycle of poverty.

Since 1975, People’s Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. Last year’s On Par event brought out nearly 100 golfers and was sponsored by nearly 30 local businesses. People’s Resource Center’s Executive Director Jeni Fabian noted, “Each year, PRC touches the lives of over 30,000 neighbors in DuPage County with food assistance, clothing, social services, computer training, job assistance and literacy,” she said. “The success of On Par for DuPage helps to make all of these services possible. PRC is grateful for the kindness and involvement of all of the supporters, participants and volunteers who truly make the difference.”

This year’s sponsors include Euclid Beverage, Borter Heating and Cooling, Thrivent Financial, Clarendon Hills Bank and Inland.

Golf registration fees include 18 holes of golf with a cart, on-course craft beer tasting, access to all on-course contest and gimmick holes, three mulligan certificates, one 12” string per foursome to improve your game, one Roll out the Barrel Contest Ball and golfer gift.

Check-in begins at 10 a.m. followed by a bratwurst or hot dog lunch. Tee-off time is 11 a.m. with a shotgun start. From 4-7 p.m. guests can enjoy cocktails, participate in a raffle and silent auction, and be entertained by The Happy Wanders. Arrowhead Executive Chef Alan Pirhofer will be serving a buffet dinner that includes German favorites Schweinbraten (roast pork) and Kartoffelpuree (mashed potatoes).

Individual golfer tickets, which include lunch and dinner, are $200. Dinner-only tickets are $65. Guests must be 21 or older. Register at dupagemuseum.org or call 630-510-4941 for more information.
