Inclusion Services

The Wheaton Park District welcomes and supports the inclusion of all abilities in our programs.

We are committed to supporting every participant so that everyone has the opportunity to succeed in and enjoy our programs and offerings.

Types of Services

Inclusion Services are available to provide reasonable modifications to participants with disabilities to ensure a safe, fun, and successful experience in any of our programs. The purpose of these resources is to assist families, caregivers, and individuals in navigating new experiences with ease at Wheaton Park District facilities, parks, programs and events; creating a welcoming environment for everyone in our community.

Who is eligible for inclusion services?

Individuals who register for a program and require accommodations or modifications to participate in a meaningful way are eligible for inclusion services. This may include, but is not limited to, individuals with developmental or cognitive delays, mobility-related impairments, or those who benefit from support with sensory processing, emotional regulation, or behavioral needs. A formal diagnosis is not required.

How do I request inclusion services?

When establishing a new household account, please alert the front desk that a special modification may be required for programming. Those with an existing household account may call the Ray Morrill Community Center front desk at 630.690.4880 at any time and request this information to be added. A staff member will contact you to discuss the participants’ needs and develop a support plan. Requests should be made at least two weeks before the program start date to allow adequate time for coordination.
