Help us Win a $600,000 Grant for Graf Park!
This grant will support the much-needed refurbishment of many amenities at Graf Park. Graf Park is one of the larger, multiuse parks serving Wheaton and is home to many athletic programs, regional tournaments and community-wide events. The athletic fields are also shared with Monroe Middle School for their physical education classes.
The grant project will include:
- Replacement of the 2 to 5 and to the 5 to 12-year-old playgrounds (both installed in 2005).
- Replacement and update of the synthetic turf sports field that has outlived its 8-year warranty period (installed in 2014).
- Replacement of the north bleachers (installed in the mid-1990s) with ADA-compliant bleachers and added shade.
- Replacement of the failing track surfacing.
- Construction of two new batting cages to be used by baseball and softball leagues.
