Arrowhead Golf Club to Host Pelican Golf Demo Day April 15

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 5, 2017

Wheaton, Ill.—On the lower level of Arrowhead Golf Club’s clubhouse at 26W151 Butterfield Rd., Wheaton, Ill., thousands of customers have passed beneath an assertive-looking pelican. It’s the logo of Pelican Golf, a full-service golf experience featuring personalized club fitting and repair and golf-related merchandise, opened in April 2016.

On April 15, 10A-3P, more guests will visit for a demo day showcasing “short clinics from PGA professionals as well as raffle prizes, giveaways, discounted merchandise, and beer tastings from Revolution Brewing for those over 21,” said Director of Golf Bruce Stoller.

“Demo day is a great way to see and try equipment from different manufacturers in one place,” he said. “The big advantage to an outdoor event is the ability to see the golf ball actually fly through the air instead of into a net.”

That’s thanks to the club’s lighted driving range, renovated in 2015. With dozens of bays, an automatic ball dispenser, and abundant wildflowers, it was named Best Golf Driving Range by West Suburban Living magazine’s readers for 2017. It elevates Pelican Golf’s service, too.

“Pelican

[Golf] has all the latest fitting technology and a very knowledgeable staff,” Stoller said. “They also have access to all manufacturers, which means players get fitted for the equipment best for them. Many places with this technology don’t have access to an outdoor range, so customers can’t see actual ball flight.”

This can be crucial “when making a final decision and is a big bonus not everyone can provide.”

Giveaways are another bonus. The first 200 guests receive a tee gift and entry into two grand prize drawings: a $2,500 custom-fit set of golf clubs and a 50-inch television.

Free golf clinics from PGA Assistant Golf Professionals Andrew Ogata and Matthew Nations are giveaways of a different sort. Putting takes the green at 11A, chipping at noon, bunker at 1P, and full swing at 2P. Guests will also get a first look at Arrowhead’s new golf skate caddies, a hybrid of a traditional golf cart and a scooter shown to reduce play time by up to 25 percent.

“I hope people learn a little bit from the clinics,” said Stoller. “I also think seeing what Pelican offers will help people realize what a great resource we have here at Arrowhead and how their game can be improved with the proper equipment.”
