Mission Statement

The Wheaton Park District Theatre Program strives to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and abilities can explore their talents, build confidence, and connect with their community. By offering diverse theatrical experiences, from acting and musical theater to stagecraft and production, we aim to inspire participants, enrich cultural life, and cultivate a love for the arts that resonates beyond the stage.

Children’s Playhouse

Our Children’s Playhouse Program is a fun and creative performance-based learning experience where kids explore the magic of musicals! Through acting, singing, and dancing, children build confidence, teamwork, and stage skills while rehearsing for a fully staged musical production.

Acting Academy

Our Acting Classes are designed to inspire confidence, creativity, and communication skills through the art of performance. Led by experienced theatre professionals and passionate instructors, our fun and supportive classes introduce children to the fundamentals of acting in an imaginative, age-appropriate way. Through games, improvisation, scene work, and character-building exercises, kids learn to express themselves on stage—and off—with clarity and confidence.

Musical Theatre Camp

During the summer, this two-week camp includes singing, dancing, and acting, immersing actors in performance technique and theatre appreciation. During the fast-paced camp, participants well get the experience of putting on a show and the camp will end with a final performance of a classic Junior Broadway show!

Theatre Camp & Day off School Workshop

Step into the spotlight with a camp that introduces participants to theatre with a variety of games, activities, and crafts. Participants will learn techniques such as blocking, movement, improvisation, audition preparation and teamwork needed to put together a real theatre performance.

Camps offered weekly during summer or day(s) off school with a new script and performance for each camp.
