Every July, the National Recreation and Park Association celebrates Park and Recreation Month. This year marks the 40th anniversary. This year’s theme is “Build Together, Play Together”, reminding us of the contributions of more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals, along with hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers, who maintain our country’s close-to-home parks.

The Wheaton Park District is celebrating all month long by celebrating our staff, sharing our “building” news, and more. We invite the community to participate in our Build Challenge. Kids love to build everything from forts to Legos, and more. We encourage kids to get creative in July, build something and share what has been built with us!
