CELEBRATE ‘WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD’ AT THE WHEATON PARK DISTRICT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Free Activities, Classes and Special Events April 23-28
The Wheaton Park District helps celebrate the Week of the Young Child™ with a variety of creative, educational and just-plain-fun events for children and their parents, April 23-28. All events are free and open to the public. No registration is required for most events.
The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual event created by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to focus public attention on the needs of children (birth through age 8) and their families. The NAEYC believes that early learning years are critical to a child’s success in school and later life. The Wheaton Park District supports their goal to provide experiences and opportunities that promote healthy development.
Free childcare for children 12 weeks to 10 years old will be provided by Kidz Kingdom for all Week of the Young Child™ events, held Monday-Friday, 8:30am-2pm, at the Community Center.
An Ice Cream Social in celebration of the Week of the Young Child™ will be held in the Memorial Room at the Community Center from 6:30-8:30pm on Friday, April 27th, featuring ice cream, live music, crafts, safety presentations and a book fair. All guests will receive coupon booklets from the Wheaton Park District worth up to $23.
